Job Roles
Job Roles
Peter- Jewett Thomas- Story Bored Designer
- Co-Director
- Cinematographer
- Lighting Director
- Co~Marketing Director
- Editor
Why
I have been allocated the role of storyboard designer because I am able to draw sufficiently accurate drawings for the planning process. I am creative so this is task I can take on. I am also one of two Co-directors as I am organised and took a share of directing responsibility for our last production. Similarly I am one of two cinematographer as I have experience in this from last years production. As a result of being creative I will have good ideas for shot composition and framing. This links in with being the lighting director as if I am operating the camera it follows that I should look into the lighting states as I can see what shows up well and suits the tone of the song. Each of us are taking on the role of Co-marketing director.
Marcus Riley
- Shot List Designer
- Co-Director
- Co- Mise-en-Scene Director
- Set Designer
- Co-Marketing Director
Why
I have chosen to take on the role of shot list designer because this one of the roles I did in last years production, so have a good understanding on how it should be done. This is also one of the many reasons I one of the Co-directors, as this was my main job on the day of filming in our last production. I am the Mise-en-scene director and set designer because I own the location we are filming in and I did the budget list, therefore I know exactly what needs doing for the set, costume and props. We have agreed that all three of us will be one of the Co-marketing Directors because we feel that marketing is something we can do well as a group.

Pop music, which accounts for the majority of the music onto days charts, is an a genre which includes a mix of many different styles of music which vary from jazz to country; rock and roll to rap; be-bop to hip-hop. Features Of Pop Music
The most significant feature of the pop music industry of the late18th and early 19th centuries was the extent of its focus on the commodity form of sheet music “Pop music is generally described as very commercial friendly, marketable and memorable, with either vocals, lyrics, instruments, or a combination of all three creating catchy choruses or verses. Genre Of 'Joint Honours'
Our Chosen Genre
Chosen Artist: Joint Honours
Song: Windows
Genre: Pop/ Rap
Pop-rap (also known as pop rap or hip pop) is a genre of music fusing the rhythm-based lyricism of hip hop music with pop music's preference for melodious vocals and catchy tunes, which gained mainstream popularity during the 1990s. The lyrics are often light hearted, with choruses similar to what's heard in pop music. The influences and roots of pop rap trace back to late 1980s hip hop artists, such as Run DMC, LL Cool J, and Beastie Boys.
The original Pop/ Rap genre was really been put into the lime light by artist such a Run DMC and successful songs such as 'U Can't Touch This' this song really did get the Pop/ Rap genre going and publicised it.
The genre is also a very good genre to make a music video out of, most music videos in the pop/rap genre are very disjunction. I believe this is easier to make because you can let your imagination run wild.
Group Artist/ Track Chosen
Joint Honours
Joint Honours is the band that we have chosen to do our music video on. The track we are using from Joint Honours is a song called 'Windows'.Joint Honours are a band which seem very organised this is one of the reason as to why we picked this band to do our media production on.
"Joint Honours are a pop/rap band that came together in Derby and bring fantastic melodic rap fused with choral harmonies.
They have recently received national airplay after featuring on the BBC Radio Six playlist. Their track ‘’Coming Together’’ was also included on Tom Robinson’s Freshnet New Music Mixtape in May 2014. They have performed at London’s O2 Arena, Y-Not Festival, Bearded Theory and featured at Derby’s Olympic Torch Parade"
This is a picture of their website

They have 4 members which make up the band:
David Jackson- Vocals/ Keys
Simon Marles- Guitar / Vocals
Adam Stone- Bass
Max Chambers- Drums
The reason why we chosen this song was because we believe as a group it'll be easy to make a music video and will turn out to be a good music video because the conventions of the song will be easy to replicate into a video.
This is the song called 'Windows' in which we are going to chosen for our music video.
